Take a Historic Trip Through Time
July 7, 2009
Reading about early American history is seeing one side of the nickel. On the other hand, turn the nickel over and start at Thomas Jefferson’s home in Monticello, Virginia. Then drive North on highway 15 to Gettysburg, Pennslvania, and you will be traveling through and reliving 300 years of early American history.
On one tank of gas, you can drive this 175-mile trip through Hallowed Ground. You personally visit history about Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, General George C Marshall, John Kennedy, and George Washington.
Broaden your interests by wittnessing 73 national historic districts; travel through 16 historic cities, 13 national parks and Civil War sites. For some folks, it’s a patriotic trip, and for others it will become a religious experience.
